In Berlin, protesters from environmental NGOs gathered in front of the Bundesrat to protest against an LNG accelerator law on May 20, 2022. The German government wants to limit its dependence on Russian gas, but several NGOs criticized this because Germany will be able to import liquefied natural gas from anywhere; this would extend the reliance on fossil fuels even longer, they claimed.
