Protest in Berlin at Pariser Platz on September 23, 2022, over the death of Iranian Mahsa Amini. Many women cut their hair in Berlin as a sign of protest and solidarity. The protesters in Berlin were protesting against the regime of President Ebrahim Raisi and the strict dress codes that especially women in Iran suffer from. Amini was an Iranian woman of Kurdish origin. Mahsa Amini was arrested by the Iranian morality police for allegedly not wearing the hijāb correctly in public. Amini fell into a coma and died three days after her arrest in the intensive care unit of Kasra Hospital in Tehran.
